Coming out of the 70s into the 80s, as it always has, music in Jamaica was looking for that fresh new sound, fresh beat, and style to get the crowds excited. The impact of this seemingly small piece of gear, the Casio MT-40, and the extraordinary way in which Prince Jammy, Noel Davey and the late Wayne Smith explored and conquered it would forever change the musical landscape of reggae and go on to influence all manner of future genres and artists for decades and it's still going strong to this day.
