Taking over YouTube live streams since 2017, Lo-Fi Hip Hop's sound predominately consists of jazzy old school, hazy Hip Hop beats, crackly vinyl & cassette effects, downtempo textures and introspective vocals. This genre has a DIY, makeshift, low-quality aesthetic. This subgenre of Hip Hop is therapeutic in nature with its atmospheric, instrumental soundscapes and Plunderphonic inventions.
