Phonk Percussion Vol 6

Phonk has been a thriving and blossoming style of beats in recent years. From festivals in Berlin to booming clubs in Sao Paulo, this style is making its mark on the music creation landscape. So, naturally we decided to explore improvising percussion instruments over these tempo styles.

We came a bit more into the brazilian phonk style as playing the perucssin instruments emerged during the session. Instruments used were: Surdo, Rebolo, Timbao, Congas, Bongos, Repenique, Caxixi, Blocks, Bells, Cajons, percfussion textures, and many more.

As the sessions continued recording these instruments, we realized not only does Phonk have its own rhythymic spaces to explore but also that recording improvised instruments in this style lead us to new places musically.
