Product Information

Classic House and Garage loops from the masters - 'deep house v2.0' offers around 1000 of the newest, freshest breaks, loops and samples for your music.

Zero-G Deep House features 760 different two-bar full drum loops, each set into tempo groups of 120, 125, 130, 135 and 140BPM. True to house music tastes, most WAVer around the 130BPM mark, and within nearly all of the loops you get a lot of rhythmic and textural diversity.

DH v2.0 also provides a good cross-section of house music sub-genres including Speed Garage, Disco House and Authentic House. There are even a few hints at drum & bass styles, as well as hardcore, and pure techno influences.
You will find that the producer has a keen set of ears for picking the right kind of kick drums and snares, and fills up the Bits in between with just the right amount of percussion to keep things shunting along without ever sounding cluttered.

Effects-wise, DH v2.0 has made most of the decisions for you, adding all the right amounts of reverb and compression and thus making for easy sampling and instant beat gratification. At the tail end of the disk is the single-hits section, which offers many of the individual drum and percussion sounds used in the preceding tracks and includes a large number of interesting and highly usable acoustic drum kit samples.

Every loop has been finely tuned and edited to exact BPM's, making it even easier to use samples in your tunes. Tough and bumpy, smooth and slamming and mixed on a vintage Neve console, these loops are of the very highest quality.

About the Producer

This library was produced by J. R. Beaumier (aka J. R. Exley), an extremely experienced composer and producer who has been working in the dance music area since the early 80s.

From advertising and television music (Sony, Dunlopillo, Renault...) to pop records (Etienne Daho, Jean Louis Murat, Indochine), since the 90s J.R. has been busy remixing top artists (Silencers, Gypsy Kings, Peter Kingsbury, Indochine, Lambarena, Cerrone and many more) and produced the first French House Compilation in 1991 for Virgin Records.

He also co-wrote 'Human Nature' with Cerrone which made an appearance high in the Billboard Dance Chart with mixes by David Morales and Frankie Knuckles. He has also worked with James Reynolds (M People, Shamen, Beatmaster, Sasha...) who mixed the loops for this sample library.

"Reviewing sample CDs is a hoot....

by Sound On Sound Magazine, UK

"Reviewing sample CDs is a hoot. Sometimes it can be a bit taxing trying to think of new ways to describe how you feel about the inclusion of yet another set of TR909 samples on every second release that crosses your desk, while at other times it's dead easy. DH v2.0 falls into the easy category, as it can be succinctly described in two words - Drum Loops. Forget 'sampling workstations', begone foul snippets of grainy vocal hooks, and cast out the slightest notion of any rich and complex multisamples.

DH v2.0 is an unashamed, unfussy and unpretentious collection of some of the most bangin' house beats I've heard in quite a while. Across the 70 minutes of disk space we are treated to 760 different two-bar loops, each set into tempo groups of 120, 125, 130, 135 and 140bpm. Obviously, true to house music tastes, most waver around the 1 30bpm mark, but within nearly all of the loops you get more rhythmic and textural diversity than you could have ever imagined in a release of this kind. DH v2.0 also manages to supply a good cross-section of house music sub-genres including Speed Garage, Disco House and Authentic House. There are even a few hints at drum & bass styles, as well as hardcore, and pure techno influences.

The producers clearly have a keen set of ears for picking the right kind of kick drums and snares, and fill up the bits in between with just the right amount of percussion to keep things shunting along without ever sounding cluttered. Effects-wise, DH v2.0 seems to have made most of the decisions for you, adding all the right amounts of reverb and compression and thus making for easy sampling and instant beat gratification. The decision to keep away from complicated mix-out variations and deconstructions of any of the loops was, I think, the right way to go. If you don't find something that would work well in your dance track by flicking through the first three tracks on the disk I would be extremely surprised.

At the tail end of the disk is the single-hits section, which offers seemingly all of the individual drum and percussion sounds used in the preceding tracks and includes surprisingly (for house music) quite a large number of interesting and highly usable acoustic drum kit samples. As with most Zero-G releases these days, you also get a free WAV file CD-ROM thrown into the deal, which will please PC and newer Akai users no end. If I had to be negative for a moment I would say that although DH v2.0 has tapped into a pure stream of near-perfect house inspiration destined for mass appeal, I can't help feeling that perhaps a little more risk-taking in the sound design and a few of the rhythm tracks would have made this release truly stellar as opposed to what it is, which is very, very good."

"dh V2.0 (in case you're wondering, dh...

by Future Music Magazine, UK

"dh V2.0 (in case you're wondering, dh stands for Deep House) is packed with house loops, percussion, and absolutely nothing else. There are more 4/4 loops here than you could possibly imagine, as well as a large amount of ethnic-y percussion loops and drum machine bits. The tempo ranges from 120 to 140bpm, and the quality of the loops is damn high.

House and big beat producers will love it, but the lack of anything apart from drum sounds is a little bit limiting, and it goes without saying that if you don't want a percussion sample CD, don't bother with dh V2.0. If you just can't get enough house loops check it out by all means. Verdict: Tons of house drums and percussion loops, but sadly nothing else. "

"The title of this double disc set gives...

by Computer Music Magazine, UK

"The title of this double disc set gives little clue to what it contains. dh v2.0 could mean just about anything. However, stick one of the CDs in your computer and you'll soon be on a funky house kind of tip, with the beats categorised by tempo. Many of the rhythms come with a few variations - great for keeping up the interest level.

There's plenty here that could have come from any number of chart dance tracks, but keep digging and you'll find a few more innovative offerings. At the end their are single hits and percussion samples, and you have to admire the sheer number of loops that have been included. Offering great value, this is a good buy for potential club anthem creators."
