Havana Meets Kingston

'Havana Meets Kingston' from Loopmasters is the debut sample pack from one of the world's most original fusion acts, bringing Jamaican and Cuban musicians together for the first time in history. Australian producer Mista Savona travelled to Cuba in 2015, flying legendary Jamaican musicians to the island to work with their Cuban counterparts, resulting in the acclaimed 2017 album featuring a staggering 52 singers and musicians. This very special pack contains over 2.5 GB of content, bringing some of the project's favourite musicians together in the studio to give DJs and producers access to a wide variety of sounds, rhythms, and textures.

Featured musicians include Cuba's top drummer Rodney Barreto, whose style is crisp, funky, and tight with enormous feeling and groove; trumpeter Julito Padron, whose tone has been described as divine, hypnotic, and sublime; Cuban percussionist Adel González Gomez on congas, bongos, and timbales; Jamaican percussionist Junior Bongo providing Nyabinghi drums; guitarist Baz Turnbull; and producer Jake Savona on acoustic and electric pianos, Hammond organs, and a variety of analog synths.

Whether it's piano sounds recorded on the Steinway at Egrem Studios in Central Havana or percussion rhythms from Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, all sounds have been processed through vintage compressors, EQs, effects units, and a 1980s Studer tape machine. Loops play between 60-130 BPM, perfect for reggae, dub, Latin, trip-hop, downtempo, and experimental music.
