'Vintage Soul Drums' was a series born out of question like, “what would curtis mayfield's percussionist sound like on a hip hop track?” or “what would the movie Superfly sound like adding in more and different percs and drums?” We recorded a few sessions to answer those for you.
First we recorded a drummer on a drum kit and then a percussionist on a variety of instruments. Then blended the two together. Really this pack series is just exploring sounds in this style that we love so much. The sonic exploration itself is what led to creating an entire pack series of these instruments in this styles.
