Indian Pakhawaj Vol 01

'Indian Pakhawaj Vol 01' is a sample pack dedicated to one of the oldest and most important percussion instruments in Indian classical and devotional music. The Pakhawaj is a barrel-shaped drum made of wood with two drumheads on either side, played with both hands to produce deep, rich, and resonant sounds.

Considered the ancestor of the Tabla, the Pakhawaj is used mainly in Dhrupad singing, devotional music, and temple traditions. Traditionally made from hollowed wood such as teak or neem, the left side produces bass sounds while the right side creates sharp rhythmic tones. The player sits cross-legged and places the instrument horizontally, using different hand strokes to create rhythmic patterns called bols - including Dha, Dhin, Ta, and Na.
